Bhimber is the chief town of Bhimber District, Azad Kashmir. The town is situated on the border with Azad Kashmir and Pakistanat a distance of about 50 km from Mirpur, Azad Kashmir and about 166 km from Rawalpindi, Pakistan.Bhimber is also known as Bab-e-Kashmir (Door to Kashmir), due to its geographical location of the city.
The area is very rich in archaeological remains due to its strategic location, it lies on the route that was followed by the Mughal Emperors for their frequent visits to the Kashmir Valley.
